Massage for Pain & Injury

If you have a specific problem with a muscle, tendon, ligament or joint, then massage therapy may be helpful in your rehabilitation or pain management. Massage is the most useful after the acute inflammation (redness, swelling, and heat) phase has died down to more manageable levels and pressure can be tolerated.

Relaxation Massage

As the name implies, relaxation massage employs standard kneading and gliding techniques to release excess muscle tension, muscle fatigue and stress. The intention of the treatment is to promote feelings of wellbeing and reconnect you with your body, while reducing muscle aches and pains.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue usually uses the standard techniques found in the Swedish or myofascial release systems, but the intention and focus of the treatment is to rout out deep tension and muscle knots. Typically, there is more pressure and the techniques move a lot slower. This allows for deeper muscles to be worked during treatment without pain.

Swedish Foot Massage

Swedish foot massage is an alternative to reflexology. It uses more kneading and gliding movements over the entire foot. This type of treatment is often requested by people who have plantar fasciitis, or work on their feet for long hours. A thorough foot, lower leg and ankle treatment can easily be accomplished in 30 minutes.
